Skara Summerland

Me and the girls decided to take a short trip to one of Swedens most popular amusementparks called Skara Sommarland. When we arrived yesterday we had a very nice and sunny evening but also way too much mosquito fighting going on. Today we had some clouds and a little rain but out through the afternoon the sun came out and we used that opportunity to get wet.

Thank you and have a good one!

Last couple of days has been great. Newcastle caught our attention as always just like Cat caught "crabs" on Tyne.
Glasgow was hot in every way the word describes it. Big thanks to SixxBitch, Oggbat & Co for bringing us Haggis and whiskey.
We're back in London right now waiting to board the plane.
A special thanks goes out to our fellow friends in SYBREED, you guys were amazing to tour with. Love you all!

Thank you Liverpool

Yesterday we had a great day. We joined up with our friends from Design 4 Life.
They did amazing tattoos on us and threw us a party.
Today we're back in Newcastle. Cat went out fishing today but only caught to crabs, he's gonna try his luck again after the show.
Our mate Dean also showed up with some drinkable gifts for us.

Lucky me

Thanks to Hazel at Design for Life in Liverpool I got a new tattoo. Time for soundcheck.

On the run

We are back on the bus heading for Liverpool. Thanks to David "DaKe" Isberg (ex Opeth) who stayed on the 7th floor of the SAS Radisson hotel we got this nice shot of us leaving Birmingham. Big kudos to DaKe for all the help we got these days.

Enjoying the weather

Right now we're sitting at The Malt House by the canal walk in Birmingham enjoying this beautiful day.

Happy day

We had a great night in London yesterday. We met a lot of new and old friends, we even brought our always so reliable friend DaKe on the bus. Today we're in Birmingham, the city of Oz. And we're really happy because we're playing a new venue today. Because the old Academy has been haunting us in our nightmares.

Deathstars invades the UK to collect DVD-material

In the middle of the ongoing festivalsummer, Deathstars have decided to go to UK for five clubshows to collects some material for a future DVD. Since England has been passionated playground for the pioneers of deadly rock for several years now, we want to have that typical brittish rock club-element and unique feeling as a part of the release. We just hope that you all turn up with your special Deathstars-outfits and have a great time together with the band. The boys will also be out partying after each and every show together with the crowd.

New arrival!

Today I got a nice package from our friends at Ibanez.
An all black JTK 300, first ever made. I'm happy as a baby.

BUY!

I have to recommend Watain's new album "Lawless Darkness".
I've been listening to it for one week straight now and it's f*****g good.
As you say in swedish: "Inte så tråkig skiiiiiiiiiiva"!

Thank you DaKe

After a few really nice and expensive ales at Ancor I finally got the courage to ask a cabdriver to take me home. Alcohol vs Skinny 1-0

More work!

Today I was DJing at Vampire Lounge when DaKe showed up and forced me to drink more champagne. Well, that's alright;-)

Lamp of God @ Blackfield Festival

Even though we missed out on the sleeping between Friday and Saturday our show yesterday went by without any big issues.
We also managed to squeeze in a 2 hour long signing session at the festival.
When we got back to the hotel the afterparty was located in Hiltrud's room, where me and Cat thought we found the light.
We found 2 lampshades which we used as hats, thinking loud: "I love lamp" (quote from Ancorman).

Happy time

Yesterday we had nice company of Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer of Kiss in the Grand Hotel bar. We went ahead of them to Cafe Opera in 2 limos. When we got to the party our new management went literally All In, and I'm not kidding. The champagne bottles were €600 a piece and the final bill ended at €9000. It's like our saying: You can't get the party started without booze. And the party can't get the party started without Deathstars.

In the tattoo hour, I want more, more, more!

Micke at House of Pain in Stockholm continued on my arm today. And as usual I'm super happy with the result.
Now I'm on my way home to get ready for the party with KISS at Cafe Opera.

KISS watching Deathstars

Here's a clip taken from Sweden's biggest newspapers website of last night.

We've got company

Ten minutes before the show yesterday Gene Simmons and the rest of KISS stumbled into our dressing room filming for their upcoming DVD KISSOLOGY 4. Gene threatened to trademark my name and asked Whiplasher where he was when KISS first played in Stockholm, in 1976? Whip replied politely: "In my fathers genitals"!
They had a VIP table right next to the stage from where they were rockin' & watchin' the whole show.

They also invited us for dinner on friday before we head on down to Germany and Blackfield Festival.

But right now I'm dying for BRUNCH!

Amusement park rock

As you know we're all back in Sweden now and tonight it's time to enter the classic grounds of Gröna Lund where Jimi Hendrix played just before he passed away and where Bob Marley still holds the attendance record even though Lady Gaga came pretty close last year.
I know it's gonna be a great night and I think it's time to party.

Stockhome!

After too many hours of traveling we just made it home, safe and sound to the swedish summer in Stockholm. We have very mixed feelings since we had such a wonderful trip but it still feels good to be home again. Thanks to everyone we met for making this journey a memory worth it's flighthours in gold.

Evening Surprise call.

Today we got up early for a guided tour up to Cristo Redentor, we also got to see the inside of Maracanâ Stadium, Carioca Aqueduct, The Sambadrome and some other nice sights. When we got back to the hotel I had one too many Mojitos in the top roof bar while Jeanette got a private massage in the hotel room.
After a late lunch we got back to the room for some rest.

We woke up after short power nap when suddenly the phone called in our room.
There was a girl on the other side of the line saying she was a fan, standing in the lobby and she wanted a picture.
We got up, got dressed and went downstairs and there she was "Madie", she told me she got this spontaneous idea of finding me in Rio. She actually traveled from Sao Paulo this afternoon just for a picture so we sat down and had a beer together. I mean it has to be a clever girl if she found out which hotel we are staying at just by looking at my blog photos.
We had a nice little chat in the bar and now it's time to go to sleep, tomorrow we'll start our journey back home to Sweden.

I found Jesus

As many other rock musicians I've found Jesus. Just that I didn't find him spiritually but on my arm this night.
After a long walk on Copacabana Beach and a trip to downtown Rio we stumbled across a well known sign that said "House of Pain" I immediately got the urge for pain.
Well in there we found a very friendly staff who said that they'll definitely make time for me.
We had some problems understanding each other but after a while we were all on the same page.
I said I wanted something that represented Rio so we decided a half naked girl, Copacabana Beach, palm trees, an exclusive drink and of course Cristo Redentor would set the stage for this postcard translated to my arm.

BIG KUDOS to Beto Cruz and the others at House of Pain in Rio de Janeiro for taking such good care of us.

OBRIGADO!

Oi! Copacabana!

This morning I was feeling a thousand times better. Cat obviously went out fishing yesterday and the rest of the gang ended up in the deepest of the rainforest looking for bungalows. So me and Jeanette decided to take a trip to Rio de Janeiro for a proper Mojito.
As it looks right now we'll stay here until Friday since we have to get back to Stockholm for the show on Monday at "Gröna Lund".
We're staying at a very nice hotel right on Copacabana Beach, just came down from the top roof bar, right next to the pool where we had some Mojito's and Caihprinha's.
Hopefully weather is good enough to go up and see the "dude on the hill" tomorrow.

Theme of the day: Barry Manilow - Copacabana
