Christmas lasts until easter

After a quick nap at the hotel we had dinner and with the dessert I got a Line 6 POD X3 as a belated christmas gift. It's my lucky day.

Sightseeing

When we arrived in Tallinn, Lincoln came to pick us up with an extra stretch advantage. Limo, Moet, Tallinn and Jeanette. 2009 here we come!

Yippeee!

After a wonderful night at Berns Hotel in Stockholm I finally found out where Jeanette is taking me for New Years. We're going to Tallin in Estonia and we're staying there until Friday. I'm so happy I'm about to explode. It's only 45 minutes before the plane takes off:) Happy New Years everyone.

Sunday at work

Here I am at Mosebacke just wishing the time could fly a little bit faster. Tomorrow Jeanette is coming and we're spending the night at Bern's Hotel before it's time for her to reveal her christmas present. I'm really curious what it is. We're going away for 48 hours. The only real clues I've got so far is that we'll not be in Stockholm and I need to bring warm clothes, bathing shorts, a camera, pen and paper, passport and guitarpicks. Hmmm... I wonder what it could be.

An old memory

My favorite drink used to be Jack & Ginger. I went down to ROCKS today and got it "my way" as Sinatra would have said it: Jack, ginger, angostura and no lime.

Opeth

Yesterday I met up with DaKe at the Opeth show and it ended up as a classic Skinny/DaKe gathering... It was nice to see Mike, Anna, Melinda and the rest of the band again, it's always too long in between the times we meet.

Mr Handyman!

I'm so god damn proud of myself today. A couple of weeks ago Whip 'accidently' bumped into my MacBook so that my screen broke. Today I replaced my screen with his old MacBook screen and saving us 700 € in repairs. Now I can see again:-)

This is Halloween

After last years success when I dressed up like Sponge Bob I felt a big pressure to make something good out of this year as well.
So me and Jeanette came up with the splendid idea of going as Barbie & Ken.
Before going to the party we went to see Pernilla Andersson playing at Södra Teatern. She just released an album entirely in Swedish and I'm looking forward to hear it.
After a pizza and a couple of beers we finally took a taxi down to Metro where this years NMA Halloween Ball took place.
Enjoy the photos!

Video shoot

On Friday I woke up at 8 AM.
Hurried away for a meeting at Street before joining up with Bone, Nightmare and Whip at Mosebacke.
They explained Cat missed his train to Stockholm. This was an interesting start of this journey.
Even though flying with Bones "favorite" airline (JAT) we made it safe to Belgrade with just a minor balance problem.
While Whip and Nightmare were doing interviews I took the opportunity to take a nap in my room. When I woke up and stepped outside I met Cat who just arrived. He had been traveling from Karlstad to Copenhagen and then to Berlin before finally arriving at his final destination in Belgrade.
We managed to squeeze in some food and beer time before going to bed.

On Saturday we started shooting the video around noon and finished about 10 PM.
Feeling very good about our selves we got out clubbing until way too early on Sunday morning.

It was probably hard to wake me up and because of this we barely made it in time for the flight.
Well on the plane I fell a sleep and woke up in Stockholm.
After collecting our luggage and passed the security I decided not to go home immediately. So I went up to departure hall and ordered a flight to Oslo.
3 hours later I met up with Jeanette at Gardemoen airport.
Much better than coming home to an empty apartment.
So after dinner at Sara's we bought some ice cream and got comfortable in front of the TV.
I got back to Stockholm today at 1:30 PM and went straight to Mosebacke.

Photoshoot with Steve Brown

Today has been really fun even though I only got three hours of sleep and it looked like the other guys didn't have much more either.
The clothes we got from Freya and Ogg was amazing. We got help with makeup from Petra who did a great job and Steve was so easy to work with.
I have a very good feeling that these pictures will come out wicked as hell.

Party!

On Friday it was Ewelinas birthday and we just finished mixing and mastering the album so I joined up with a quite happy gang around 1 AM.
When the bar closed I insisted on more drinks so we went home to my place for Jim Beam & Coke and the wonderful splatter classic "Terror Firmer".

I got up around 2 PM and realized quickly that I had to be at KGB for our listening session in an hour.
About 20 journalists from all over Europe showed up but the bigger part of the Swedish press had better things to do (hmm).
After the listening session we went to Monks for dinner, very nice.
We finished the night at ROCKS and I was already home and in bed by 2 AM.

Luckily I didn't have too much to do today so I found my old Playstation 2 and got stuck with that for several hours.
Later tonight we'll meet up with Ogg and Freya who put down all they're free time to make us look good for the upcoming album.

Back in Oslo

I got to Oslo late on Thursday evening. After the usual beer at Elm Street we went home to bake cinnamon buns.
On Friday evening we had Helena and Dag over for buns & ice cream drinks... many hours later we stumbled down to Unholy with full stomachs to meet up with Kalle who's moving to Stockholm on Monday.
We stayed in almost the whole Saturday and I'm going home again this afternoon :(

Remix for Acey Slade

I recently finished a remix of Acey Slades song "Reptile House" that is gonna be on his upcoming EP.

This is what he wrote in his blog on http://www.myspace.com/aceyslademusic

"Acey just received the remix of 'Reptile House' done by Skinny from Deathstars and is very excited for you all to hear it! 'Man, Skinny stepped up to the plate on this one! Last night I went over to Stakka's (Aceys producer) house to catch up a little. We have 2 songs to finish and then we are DONE with the album! Anyway, he just had a daughter so we put the process on hold for a couple of weeks. 2 Surprises awaited me at Stakkas. 1-His daughter did not recoil in the pure evil of my presence. 2-Skinny from Deathstars was sending his remix via IM. One of the surprises was fresh and beautiful. The other was dark and groovy. I'll leave it to you as to which was which.' This fall Acey will release an EP called, 'Sex, Murder, Art, Baby!'. The EP will have new songs, exclusive tracks and remixes by Skinny (Deathstars), Loopy (H.U.G.), Speedranch, and a special re-mix by Piggy D (Evacuation Plan and Rob Zombie) with some help from Aceys friends and fiends. Live shows and a full length album are in the future. Musically Acey describes it as 'Quasi Glam Ubber Dance Rock'."

Last Day in Paradise

We got up pretty early on Tuesday to pack our bags, get the last C-vitamines out of the sun and get the last B-vitamines out of the beer before it was time to head back to Oslo, Norway.

We never give up on traditions so after a quick burger at Oslo S we passed Elm Street for a beer to talk through the best vacation ever.

We were both free on Wednesday which was the best decision ever made. It would have been horrible to come back from holidays and straight back to work. We got online for the first time in 8 days, ate late lunch at "Politikern" and watched "Hero" & "Flying Daggers" on DVD before falling asleep.

Now I'm on the train, almost in Stockholm again. I've had the most relaxing and wonderful vacation ever. Finished 2 books (Jenna Jameson biography and Bukovski's "Pulp"). Tomorrow is rehearsal day and on Saturday we're playing Els Rock in Holland.

Old Market & Glass Boat

Woke up after a really good nights sleep and it was Sunday already. I decided to visit the gym again while Jeanette tried the water aerobics in the pool. We spent the rest of the day in and by the pool and after dinner we decided to go shopping in "The Old Market". Damn! I've never been called Bob Marley so many times in my entire life. It was crazy. Most people thought I was from Holland and screamed "Rasta", if I would have seen a hair saloon I would have cut off my dreads the same minute.

But we found a lot of cool stuff there for a very good price.

After 2 hours we were totally exhausted from saying "No thanks", "I'm from Sweden and she's from Norway", "Bob Marlely is Dead", "I don't want your camels" and finally "I'm from China can't you tell?". We jumped into a cab and got back to our room.

After breakfast on Monday we took trip with a so called Glass Boat. It was pretty cool at first to see all the fishes and corals through the floor but I got so annoyed by one of the guides that put on really loud music with speakers just screaming out treble. Finally we stopped and we jumped in for some snorkeling. The way back was really nice sitting on deck drinking a coke and watching the coastline of Sharm El Sheikh. When we got back it was only 12:30 PM and we had a whole day to just relax. In the evening we went to Grill House for dinner, very good food and service.

Love Boat

At first my head felt really heavy waking up and I thought it was gonna be tough to enjoy sunbathing and the rest of our daily procedures but in fact it was just what made me feel good again. A good book, "hair of the dog" and a refreshing swim among all the "nEMO"-looking fishes.

We had reserved a table at the "Love Boat" for the night, it was truly an experience. Really good food, service, atmosphere and entertainment. I even got to try out the belly dancing... hehe.

Routines & Naama-Bay

Friday started off like every other day. Sun lotion, breakfast, sun, swimming & snorkeling in the ocean, beer, sun, swimming, beer and pancakes, sun and so on until the afternoon came up on us and we went up to the pool for a last refreshing cool-off and a beer in the "Deep in Bar".

After dinner we decided to take a cab into Naama-Bay for a couple of drinks. Tourists like we are we first walked into Hard Rock Café for a couple of Heineken then we found a more traditional place called Zaza with over priced drinks but really qualitative entertainment like belly dancing, live music and some guy spinning round and round for one hour. I have a vague memory of showing the staff my Skinny bin Laden trick.

After crashing a salsa bottle in Pizza Hut we decided to call it a night and headed back to the hotel at 4:00 AM.
